SHIPPING CONTAINERS OFFER SECURE STORAGE & INCOME OPPORTUNITIES TO FARMS

We’re a small, family business which started out as a partnership over 15 years ago, growing into a limited company. Over that time, we’ve helped other businesses grow, too. Farmers, especially – some who were keen to offer self-storage on their land. We supply shipping containers at a rate that suits them – sometimes a few in one go, often just one container at a time when they have a new customer. We also rent our shipping containers, which also enables farms without upfront funds to get started.

Away from business opportunities, our shipping containers can store everything from feed to equipment. They double up as workshops or tack stores. We also supply temporary offices. Whatever you need, we have you covered!

Containers offer a practical and cost-effective answer to the growing need for enhanced storage and security on farms. Traditionally, farms have relied on barns, sheds, and open-air storage, leaving valuable equipment, crops, and livestock vulnerable to the elements and potential theft.

Shipping containers are made to stand the test of time. They’re a hardy and secure storage solution delivered to you.

We have our own roots in rural communities and farming, having reared rare breed pigs, sheep and cows in the past. At Container People Storage Ltd, we’re proud to work alongside other rural and farming businesses – especially the small family operations like our own. Contact us for more information. SELF STORAGE OPPORTUNITY

Self-Storage Opportunity

If you have the space to diversify into self-storage premises, here’s a few considerations to get you started.

The site: You will need hardstanding ground or a suitably firm surface to site the containers. Not only are the haulage vehicles large and heavy but customers will need good access to the unit.

Indoor or outdoor: Shipping containers are weatherproof and made to last decades, they will happily sit in the elements but some people choose to put them inside large outbuildings, ensuring limited wear and tear.

What size would you need: 20fts are the best value in terms of haulage and hire or purchase costs. They have enough room for the average contents of a 2-3 bedroom house. More than enough room for bulky equipment. A 10ft can store items from furniture to animal feed or be used as a small tack room. The 40ft can hold the contents of an average sized 3-4 bedroom house.

Initial cost: This is a business opportunity that can grow overtime. You can add a new container to your fleet whenever a customer signs up for storage. You’ll have to cover haulage, hire or purchase of the containers, provide padlocks and consider if you would want lockable gates or extra security.
